All Qantas Group aircraft are fitted with advanced air-conditioning and pressurisation systems. This means temperatures can be individually controlled across different sections of the hold to better suit the animal being transported and the duration of carriage.

Animal vs pet
Animals, not classed as pets, includes (but not limited to), reptiles, crocodiles, race horses, zoo creatures, racing pigeons, mice, day old chicks, live coral/rocks, fish (moving) for commercial purposes, and racing greyhounds.
Additionally, any animal or bird requiring a permit to travel (whether a pet or not), will be classified and transported under Q-GO Animals conditions of carriage for domestic or international travel.
Features and facilities
- Dedicated waiting areas at most terminals ensuring optimal animal comfort
- Specialist carer, handler or veterinarian can be provided with prior arrangement (subject to availability)
- Providing an animal container is the responsibility of the freight forwarder or shipper and must comply with IATA construction, ventilation, safety, health and welfare requirements.
