Qantas Group update and implications for freight

With the Federal Government now advising against all overseas travel from Australia, regularly scheduled international flights will continue until late March to assist with repatriation before being suspended until at least the end of May 2020.

As a result, more than 150 aircraft will temporarily be grounded, including all of Qantas’ A380s, 747s and B787-9s and
Jetstar’s B787-8s.

Essential domestic, regional and freight connections will be maintained as much as possible.

While our fleet of freighters will continue to be fully utilised and some domestic passenger aircraft will be used for freight-only flights, the additional network changes will significantly impact our capacity to uplift freight. As a result, we are only taking bookings for flights departing within 48 hours until further notice.

Our call centre is experiencing high call volumes, so thank you for your patience as we service customers with shipments departing in the next two days.
